Intelligence Futures Directorate

Intelligence, Surveillance, and
Reconnaissance (ISR) Requirements,
Capabilities and Investment Strategy for the
G-2
OUR VISION
Use our knowledge of today’s
capabilities as the starting point to
determine the next generation of ISR
capabilities:
- Frame the new technology
developed from the last decade
of war and use it to assist in
defining future capabilities
that the Army should pursue.
- Use knowledge against given
requirements to bring forth a
capability that can be
developed and resourced.
- Move appropriate QRCs into
the programs of record (PoRs)
and the military organizations.
- Work current and future ISR
capabilities to answer:
- How much is
enough ISR?
- Is new
technology
required?
- What is the
cost and is it
affordable?
- What is the
risk, if a new
system or
technology is
not pursued?
- Will a new
concept or TTP
using existing
technology
satisfy the
requirement?
