MEMORANDUM FOR CIVILIAN PERSONNEL OPERATIONS CENTERS/CIVILIAN PERSONNEL ADVISORY CENTERS

SUBJECT:New Generic Intern Position Descriptions (PDs)

1. The Intelligence Personnel Management Office (IPMO) has developed generic intern positions for use in the Civilian Intelligence Personnel Management System (CIPMS). These positions are modeled after the generic intern positions developed by the Office of the Assistant Secretary (Manpower and Reserve Affairs) for positions covered under Title 5. It was necessary to develop separate position descriptions, in conjunction with ASA (M&RA), for CIPMS interns inasmuch as CIPMS is covered under title 10 and has a different classification system. The CIPMS classification system requires position descriptions to be written in a different format from that used for positions covered under title 5.

2. One position description each has been developed for the GS-5, GS-7 and GS-9 levels. These descriptions were developed for use with any career program. These descriptions should be used in conjunction with the specific duties and tasks prescribed in the Master Intern Training Plan and the specific training objectives documented in The Army Performance Evaluation System.

3. These PDs are available on Civilian Personnel On Line http://www.cpol.army.mil through the PD Library by selecting the category "INTRN" and then clicking on "search." CIPMS will be shown parenthetically for CIPMS intern PDs.
