Are You Considering an ICAP Assignment that Requires a Geographic Relocation?

For your convenience, an ICAP Relocation Cost Estimate Worksheet has been created and is available for downloading. This worksheet is designed to give you a feel for the types of expenses involved when accepting an ICAP assignment that requires a geographic relocation. The worksheet includes costing categories authorized by the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) for "Temporary Change of Station" moves, which are used for ICAP assignments requiring relocation within CONUS*. Not all categories/costs will be appropriate for every case, and changes will occur over time - so please refer to the cited JTR references and work in concert with your local travel officials to develop the most accurate estimates. Your questions, comments, or suggestions are welcome at any time. We will periodically update the worksheet to incorporate JTR changes and improvements recommended by our users.

*For Army DCIPS careerists seeking ICAP assignments outside the Continental United States, much of the information on this worksheet may be applicable. However, please contact the Intelligence Personnel Management Office for further guidance on oversees assignments and costs.

Points to Consider

  • ICAP relocation expenses are centrally funded by HQDA upon approval by the Office of the Deputy Chief G2.
  • Requests must be forwarded through command channels to the DCS, G-2, Intelligence Personnel Management Office, for approval prior to confirmation of ICAP placement.
  • Upon approval and before movement occurs, funding support and conditions will be documented in an individual memorandum of agreement for each ICAP placement.

Final Funding Guidance for ICAP Assignments Requiring Relocation is forthcoming. For more information, contact (703) 601-1565 or DSN 329-1565.
